Introduction to Cairngorm in Flex & Apollo Development
Description
An introduction to using the Cairngorm microarchitecture for Flex 2 and Apollo development. This session provides an overview of problems Cairngorm solves, ramifications of using Cairngorm, and a walkthrough on the process of creating both a Flex 2 application using Cairngorm and an Apollo application. Cairngorm is a microarchitecture that has been adopted by many Flex developers, especially in cases where the development is being done in teams. This session highlights the cases where using Cairngorm will pay off most, and in what cases using a less formal structure may prove more beneficial. This session reviews and explains the design patterns implemented in Cairngorm including: MVC, Model Locator, Value Object, Front Controller, Event Broadcaster, Business Delegate, and Command pattern. This session is for you if you have heard of Cairngorm and wonder what all of the buzz is about or if you are considering using Cairngorm. Experienced Cairngorm developers are welcome too.
